A couple of years ago, Team Sirius adopted the new motto of "A Small Group of People Making a Big Difference."
It is so amazing - and SO REWARDING - when we see that the motto isn't just words on the website banner, but are truly the core of what we do.
The Winter 2025 edition of the FRIENDS OF KIDS WITH CANCER newsletter came recently. Team Sirius and LillyPalooza were featured with a full-page article.
After LillyPalooza 2024, Team Sirius and Lilly Ohlsen presented Friends of Kids with Cancer a check for $18,950 (and more donations followed that when all of the company matches arrived). The LillyPalooza event also filled a car to overflowing with donated toys, which will be given to kids at the local hospitals who are dealing with cancer.
The services that FOKWC offer not only the children, but their families as well, goes way beyond toys - Educational, Tutoring, and Scholarship Programs for kids who've missed school because of cancer treatments; Therapeutic assistance for children in treatment, survivors, and their siblings and families throughout the family's cancer journey; and Recreation in the form of Patient & Family Parties, Special Events and Ticket Outings, Bone Marrow Transplant events, in-patient events like toys, games and entertainment, to snacks and munchie meals, and the toy closet, as well as End-of-Chemo celebration events.
Friends of Kids with Cancer is a small organization that takes the time to help alleviate stresses of daily life of a cancer patient and their families, and Team Sirius could not be more proud to have helped to make some of this possible.
